New look Twitter homepage

New look Twitter homepage

Twitter is introducing series of new changes to it’s popular social media platform. The most obvious change is to it’s homepage, which now features a YouTube style feed of popular, topical and breaking news, from some of the biggest account on it’s platform. The contents displayed on Twitter’s new style homepage is pulled from various randomly selected topics and categories.
A click on any of the items featured on Twitter’s homepage takes you directly to the account the feed is pulled from. The new radical homepage design saw a significant change made to the login and registration section. The login and registration used to take up most of the homepage, it has now been made smaller but more prominent position on the top right hand corner

Twitter timelines now sorted by relevance instead of chronologically

An even more radical change to Twitter, than the new homepage design is the algorithmic change, that sees the tweets on users account being sorted by relevance, instead of chronologically. Tweets to users timelines has been sorted chronologically since the social networking platform was established.

The new looks Tweeter feeds it to be rolled out by the company shortly. So, don’t be surprised when you notice your twitter timeline being sorted by relevance or importance rather than the chronologically order you are familiar with.
